(1) Leader Of World Ranking Dressage - GP KWPN stallion Jazz (s.Cocktail)

The wonderful performance of Jazz (s.Cocktail) on KWPN Stallion at the well known Stud and breeding station "De Dalhoeve" in the Netherlands, early 2009.

Jazz (s.Cocktail) is born on the 21st of May 1991 in the Netherland's at Huub and Tiny van Helvoirt, little was it known by his breeders at the time that he would go on to be a legend in the world of dressage.

BROERE JAZZ is sired by the legendary GP dressage stallion Cocktail. Cocktail was himself KWPN HOY in 1995 and ridden by the world champion Anky van Grunsven. In 2001 Tineke Bartels debuted Broere Jazz at Grand Prix, and in that year winning the Grand Prix World Cup in Amsterdam on a score of 74.65%. In 2002 at Zwollse Paardendagen he achieved third place in the category "Best Stallion". In addition Broere Jazz was Indoor Champion at NBVR and competed in the 2002 Olympic Games in Jerez, Spain.

Broere Jazz strongly passes on his qualities to his offrspring, which can be seen in the results in both the show ring and in sporting events. His offspring show a uniform collection of riding type foals with refinement and very good development. They like to trot and show rise in the front. They have also have tact and scope.

It is 2007 when Jazz has already eight licensed sons with the KWPN (2007): Johnson, Norway, Olivi, Riant, Vic, Westpoint, and Wynton. He also has eleven licensed grandsons. Based on the results of his offspring in breeding and sport, Broere Jazz was awarded the predicate "Keur" and "Preferent".

Jazz appeared to cross very well with Nayade STV (s.Argus x Uniform x Eros), foundation mare of VDWhorses dressage breeding. Her 1st Jazz offspring the elite and sport mare Vayade VDW reached the finals at NMK in 2005 and ranked 4rd mare at the PAVO CUP finals in 2007. It is 2009 when Nayade STV delivers her 5th Jazz offspring and are all well above average! Hopefully more will follow.

2009-2010 - It's "Jazz" Time again! The infamous KWPN chestnut dressage stallion maintains his lead position with 12,972 points ahead of his closest contender the legendary "Donnerhall" with over 4000 points behind him. Jazz although not always known as being the "easiest" of temperaments has nonetheless gone on to become the Dressage sire of the decade.

Jazz was performance tested in 1994 described as honest, reliable, temperamental, likes to look at everything. Very willing to work and works well. The walk is easy with a long stride. He carries himself well in the trot, has very good use of the foreleg and has sufficient power. The canter is sufficient in scope and carriage but it should be more powerful. He rises in the forehand during dressage and he works well. He has a great deal of talent for dressage and gives his rider a good feeling. His scores were well above average with an 8 for his walk, an impressive 9.5 for his trot 8.5 for his canter with three 9's for trainability, stable behavior and overall.
