  • Excellent video. I am lucky enough to fly in the Tristar quite often. See them all the time what with living in Carterton too.

  • Could you imagine as a passenger in a situation to be just looking out the window and at 10:42 thinking "oh God we lost an engine..."

  • I thought he was going to open a box of donuts. I like the Tristar, but the Md-11 will always be my favorite.

WOW...gotta love hearing those RR engines reving up!!

  • TRUE!

The Trident was the first equipped with autoland due to the frequency of fog in London.

This is some incredible footage, thank you so much for sharing this video! Love the Tristar!

    Check out my videos!

  • The TriStar was and still remains my favourite aircraft. Way ahead of it's time and it's performance outdone even the great DC10....

The sheer power of those engines left me in ore the very first time i flew on her, the way those engines growled on full throttle. i fell in love immediately!!

Im glad theyre still being looked after =)

  • Those old aeroplanes are bloody cool. Tristar was right on the cusp of the digital age - enough automation to manage the flight but still a hands on experience.

The Trident BTW was analogue but still had a full auto-throttle and features such as altitude capture. Now that's impressive!!

  • Love the engine sounds!!
