It's 19.02 on 14 February, 2009 - 34067 Tangmere rushes through Whitchurch, Hampshire, returning the 'Somerset Explorer' to the capital. A few hardy souls dot the platforms, in contrast to the hundreds who were there to see Tornado earlier in the day.

  • I really like your work Will. While the visuals in this clip are v good it is the sound track that is the star & lifts the whole thing to a high standard.

People like me get a great deal of pleasure looking at vids people like you post, so I hope you don't mind me saying that I think your finest work is often your shortest. 35001 at Micheldever is a case in point. A short sharp intense impression (tightly edited) & then it's gone! I've sent it to non steam enthuisasts who loved it!

  • Loved it. I think of non railway people and may be children on that platform, and she comes roaring through, wow. Sweet memories. Tks for the posting.

  • It looks almost ghost like, as the train provides the soundtrack. My one thought was "Looks like this train was forty-five years late..but still determined to get there!!"

  • I especially like the viewers fleeing their position on the crossing at 1:00

  • very atmospheric with the normality of the station being interrupted by the fury of the locomotive..well done !!

  • that is like Dante, brilliant, worn engine off-song but still beautiful.

  • yeeha!!! well done!

  • Great stuff!

  • i fully agree!
