Iridium flare seen over Raleigh, NC on January 28th, 2010. Maximum apparent magnitude of -8 reached at 6:12:18pm EST. The flare was seen zooming in between the constellations Auriga (the bright star to the lower right is the Capella system, +0.08 at the time) and Perseus, with the center at 65 deg. Alt, 36 deg. (NE) Az. This was taken from 1.2 miles (2.0 km) East of the flare center. Captured with the HD video setting on my Casio EX-FH20. Satellite was Iridium 12, launched on June 18, 1997 from Baikonur.
