*what God has already said it is undisputed

  • We are flesh full of pride and arrogance. Repentance leads to forgiveness and humility, is what our Heavenly Father wants us to teach us. Gentlemen if you have a relationship with God, you have the ability to recognize the lies of the devil. This is NOT a discussion of opinions or personal experiences. It said that Heavenly Father is not in dispute. God Bless You All.

  • You know when you know someone is not from God, when your life is guided by the Holy Spirit, and it is he himself who is uncomfortable listening to this kind of lies, blasphemies of hell.

  • I repent when I did something wrong against God, I do not regret to get something from God, I repent for it is a way to acknowledge my mistakes to my father .. I should apologize to a friend who i huerted? should apologize to my parents for disobeying them? no? why? they love me, right? their love for me will never change. You know what? what this man is teaching is a lie from hell, hell he did not "believe. "

  • Repentance is not bargaining, repentance is the part were we turn on the old to accept the way Christ has made for us through his death an resurrection. It is what we need to do to get on board with that which he has prepared. It is our action in response to his action.

Repentance is realizing in humility that we are the ones who are confused, and we need to turn our back on our old ways of sin to reap the reward of his righteousness and grace.

  • and Jesus said "Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand". nice one rob

  • Aaahhh... another subtle hint at universalism.

Funny, I recall that Paul said "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,"

    ~ Acts 17:30

  • Excellent comment. Thank you for actually looking toward God's Word and not assuming Bell is correct. Though I would agree with the idea of 'participation' with God who has already accomplished all salvation and final renovation through the Son.

  • There is a mental disposition that you have to willfully assume without which you cannot be justified. I Peter 5:5 says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble" and this humility begins before any physical act is initiated. It's the moment when your heart turns away from selfish self-dependence, and turns towards dependence on God and his direction. This happens before confession and before baptism. The latter are merely a forms of outward communication of an inward reality.

  • I tend to agree with the spirit of what Rob is saying but I also agree with the definition of repentance as it is defined in the original Greek: "to change one's mind, thought, purpose, views regarding a matter; it is to have another mind about a thing"(wiki). The question is not "is there a condition?" but rather "what is the nature of the condition?"
