@Tractorracer5812 No matter what type of tractor you use when plowing an existing hay field, expect to drop one gear when plowing, because you have to plow up those deep set hay roots that have rooted into the dirt for several years. If you normally plow in third gear, you will have to drop to second when plowing an existing hay field.

I used this same model plow pulled by an international H for years and years. Strill great to see. Thanks.

Look at that pretty black dirt. Nothing but red clay here in western NC

it dont matter wut kind of tractor u use as long as it can handel the plow. but plowing the feild isnt just to make it smooth. its to turn over all the trash (dead grass small sticks ect) and to bring up the fress soil underneith. and after u disc it or use a cultivator to smooth it out and make a seed bed.

I was wondering the whole process of ploughing if someone could please help me. my basic understanding is you take normall bumpy land and then plough it over, Then you disc that? I might be doing this to my hay field which is terribly bumpy and id be doing this with a gas tractor, any advice?
