Are you guys really kidding? Ivo has a great serve because of his height, which troubles all of his opponents. The thing is he doesnt NEED to jump. All the other guys jump because they need to lift themselves to his height. Yes, it might help him, but is it really worth it? When you serve from higher to the ground the projectory of the ball tends to bounce higher. Try it. Serve from the service line, then the baseline. Your serve from the service line is extremely higher. That's how Ivo feels.

*Continued* I am not saying that he has an amazing topspin backhand, I wouldn't even be surprised if some people on here have better ones than he does, but you think he doesn't know that? He is one of the best players at maximizing his strengths and minimizing his weaknesses, which is why I highly doubt he would consistently lose baseline rallies to any non-pro. I am the furthest thing from a Karlovic fan there is, but he doesn't deserve all the hate he's getting.

You MIGHT have a chance, yes, but can you consistently hit it deep to his backhand side? He is not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. It's just tiresome to hear that without his serve, he's nothing... he has a solid slice. a good forehand, and is an extremely capable volleyer... the only reason the pros make him look like a fool at times is because they have impeccable footwork and placement, which if any of us had, we'd probably be trying out for the pro tour.

@PrasSF yes...but if you played his backhand like most of the guys do on tour, you MIGHT have a chance. A small chance, but atleast its somewhat doable.
