Requiem for Heath Ledger

I wrote this song today (01.22.08) shortly after hearing about Heath's untimely passing. It has made me quite sad...much in the same way when Steve Irwin and Dan Fogelberg died. I apologize for the quality. I am attending Ranger Academy now and only have a tiny mic inside my Zen MP3 player to record on. I tried to make the best of it...but I also sort of like the quality. I feel like it lends it a timelessness...as if you were listening to it played as a tribute on a radio station late in the wee hours of the morning. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this song and I hope wherever Heath is that he realizes how many people he affected.

It never ceases to amaze me how rude, callous, and just generally disrespectful some people can be when it comes to topics like the death of an admired and prolific actor. Let's fill the world with better things.

Edit #3: I had no idea this video would go this far. It's started me thinking that maybe I should get a webcam and start recording my other songs for you guys to see. I've got such a positive response to my music. What do you think? Comments appreciated.

everyone is different, people react differently, and it's not like the reporters broke the news to his parents right there and then asked, "so what do you have to say?". They obviously had time to experience the initial shock. But anyway, who cares how they responded, they lost their son, it's the worst thing in the world to lose a loved one... they don't have to cry to the world, they can behave however they want.
