@TRADTOONS to be honest, it especially applies to bodhran users, haha. Because I very rarely hear good bodhran players. A lot of them are shite and that ruins a session :/
The bodhran is indeed a fine instrument when IT IS PROPERLY PLAYED which is unfortunately rare. It is not easy to play well but Junior and Seamus O'Kane, for example, enhance traditional music with their knowledge of how it should be played. BTW, it is considered good manners for ANY musician not known to an existing session to ask, or wait to be asked to join in. This session etiquette also applies to bodhran users!!! And don't mention spoon rattlers!!
I see from the comments here that Junior (the bodhran player) is a teacher. Has he inspired or instructed any players, good ones, that would inspire and encourage young players.
The bodhran unfortunately does not get enough recognition, I think it's a great instrument.
I was at the workshop / concert in Celbridge, and it was very inspirational. Especially that I got to talk to him, he's a very great man. He actually inspired me into starting to play the Bodhrán. One of the most kind and friendly people I've ever met. Sweden will come to visit once again mate! We'll be back after our education just as we said. Cheers! Alexander // Djembe Player :)

The second tune is often refered to as "Wynne's #3" (Martin Wynne's) or "Oh, the G one!".
Caitlin and Junior are awesome players!
