Danger, There are fake and counterfeit parts for electronic replacement on e-bay, this is the comparison of a real genuine 2SA1494 and a Fake. The Fake has a 3 MM die and lacks the TM-200 mount inside the core while the original contains a 5 MM die and has the original TM-200 mount under the die.

  • you muppet you do not do test comparisons by scorching then smashing them with a brick !!!you electrically test them under normal conditions ie.. voltage and current measurements...and heat dissipation... your test is the equivelant of throwing tyres into the sea to see if they float or not, and saying the ones that sink are counterfit...i dont think anyone would employ you as a conformity tester.

  • @eyelovewhisky How do I respond to this, these where already tested, the originals died due to a direct short and it's twin was tested and is rated at 250 volts and 6 amps, When I installed the counterfeits they almost immediately failed, when a good fake was tested it failed at less then half the supposed rated voltage, still running a 6 amp current with failure at about 120 volts, The 3 mm die was for a much smaller transistor and did not hold up to the rated manufactures power of a 5 mm

  • i cannot believe e-bay. dont use e-bay. dont use online banking too. many scam today.

  • no matter where you go there are scammers, if you buy a generic box of frosted flakes you get scammed lol. seriously but out of all the ebay buys i have made this was the only bad one. Ebay does well though with the feedback concept it pretty much weeds out the scammers quickly... nice to know that box of generic frosted flakes are going to come from hong kong water logged 2 months later and taste of dry cat food. sweet jesus "THEY"RE GROOOOSSSS!! " but only 3 yen!!!

  • If you want real power HF transistors you should contact eleflow. They still create these old transistors, they have good quality. They are brand new, no refurbished or fakes. A guy here on youtube has tested them.

You shouldnt trust those people who claim to sell old transistors (from Motorola etc), many of those oldies aint getting made anymore my Motorola.

  • @eyelovewhisky Case you don't know, that is a reasonable way to detect a fake 2SA1494 transistor. The die in a counterfeit is smaller.

  • @eyelovewhisky

He is showing the difference in die size. Counterfeits have a low power die installed so that the transistor passes conventional tests to sneak into the mainstream semiconductor market.. X-ray machine is typically the way die size is verified. Or physically opening them.

  • Many bad part come into USA from Canada towel head

  • gpygouygouyu

  • I yam sofa king we todd did.
