I know I'm not the first to say this but I have a lot of respect for Neil.
How many guys at the pinnacle of their career, already regarded (erroneously) as one of the best drummers of all time would start studying jazz so they could improve?
Not many, that's for sure.
I remember watching the Burning for Buddy concerts and Neil was desperately outclassed. 20 years later, he's mastered the jazz as well.
He's always been a very unique stylist and a great drummer, no doubt - but now he's the man!

I actually didn't like this one so much the first time I heard it, but I like it better now. It's extremely complex (to my unschooled ear -- I'm a self-taught drummer; not even in the same galaxy as this guy, obviously) -- and I think it's meant to be blues-groove-free, at least until the big band ending. Sounded more African to me; something he's been into for a while now. But it's all a matter of taste!

one of the greatest, too bad he looks like berlusconi :(

@MrHenryrules I have seen him live in concert three times; Moving Pictures, and twice on the Signals tour. He was amazing. The fact is, this solo blows. Poorly constructed and the worst solo of all drum solo's during both drum weeks. The Shelia E solo blows this away. It has no groove, and horrible feel to it. Sounds like he didnt prepare a solo and just got up and hit shit cuz he is Neil Effing Peart.

@camarojuana Yes; but let's not forget that you're and idiot. Please, don't forget this. This isn't an insult, it's and insight for your own good.

@camarojuana Agreed. He tried to fit too much into too short of time.
Definitely the highest quality rip of this that I have seen on youtube. Thanks!
