Let's Play: Mega Man 10 [part 1], Solar Man's Stage (Nintendo Wii Wiiware)

This is the first run in MM10 without knowledge of weaknesses or anything, thus making it a blind athentic first run. Though I may play cautitiously depending on the stage threats I percieve.

Solar Man (ソーラーマン, Solar Man?) is a Robot Master from Mega Man 10. He attacks by shooting energy straight out of the top of his head. He is also able to block and absorb attacks with his artificial sunlight to increase the power of his attacks. Solar Man worked in a sunlight research lab before he went berserk from Roboenza. In his spare time he developed a "Solar Workout" plan which has experienced small success

Mega Man 10 (ロックマン10 宇宙からの脅威!!, Rokkuman 10: Uchū kara no Kyōi!!?, lit. Rockman 10: Threat From Outer Space!!) is the upcoming tenth main entry of the classic Mega Man series (not including Mega Man & Bass). Like its predecessor, Mega Man 9, it will be a downloadable title for the same services -- WiiWare, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade -- and is based on the look and feel of the early NES titles. It will be released on March 1, 2010 for WiiWare, March 11, 2010 for PlayStation Network, and March 31, 2010 for Xbox Live Arcade.

Plot
A robotic illness known as Roboenza starts infecting robots, causing them to malfunction, with Roll becoming one of the victims. A month following the outbreak, the infected robots go berserk and attempt to take over the world. Dr. Wily comes to Mega Man and Dr. Light, claiming that he was building a medicine making machine to cure the disease before one of the infected robots stole it. Reluctantly, Mega Man decides to help Dr. Wily retrieve the machine, and soon runs into Proto Man who decides to join him.

Gameplay
Mega Man 10 will have three playable characters: Mega Man, Proto Man and an unnamed third character. The Robot Masters in the game are Sheep Man, Commando Man, Blade Man, Strike Man, Solar Man, Chill Man, Nitro Man, and Pump Man. An easy mode will also be included in the game (which has been compared in difficulty to Mega Man 2) that alters levels, such as placing platforms over spike pits. There will also be a 'Mega Man Challenges' mode where players can practice their skills. Returning features from the previous game include an in-between level item shop and downloadable content.

Development
Mega Man 10 was developed by Inti Creates, a company which developed games in the Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX series. Much of the staff previously worked at Capcom, and developed several Nintendo Entertainment System titles, including the early Mega Man games. Like Mega Man 9, the game is a return to the series's roots, as the graphics and music resemble how their original games looked and sounded on the Nintendo Entertainment System's hardware. All the graphics and sound are made from scratch. The game runs on an engine that simulates the behavior of 8-bit video games, even going so far as to include the option to add sprite flicker, known as Legacy Mode.
Audio: Rockman 10 Original Soundtrack is the first of two albums to be made. It is to be released in March 2010 by Inti Creates.

  • What possessed you to start with the raging fire level lol

  • @Supahx To pick a fight with a strong looking boss of course, though in my condition, it was too much to handle, I should have fought Sheep Man first and used Rush Coil... lol

  • what the fuck is this? megamanX IS megaman 10!!! you can't just come out with a megaman 10 after its already been done! the x stands for 10

  • Mega Man X is a separate series from the classic series, granted X is the Roman Numeral for 10 but in this case, Mega Man X actually stands for the letter x. Since subsequent games in the X series are X2, X3, X4, and so on, instead of xi, xii, xiii, xiv... X is the characters name. and thus is NOT a numerical figure.

  • @StoneMonkWisdom well if you look at the start screen in every Mega Man game with the exception of 8 and 9 you will see that the Mega Man series has always embraced the use of Roman Numerals, now with that being said it would only logically make sense that if a title screen read "Mega Man X" that a viewer would read that as 10 based on previous Mega Man titles

  • @jeminni19 Well, I suppose that's right, maybe capcom didn't think people would get confused either way since they probably put Roman Numerals in the game menu (for good looking design or something) but otherwise the video game cover art displays a number, not a roman numeral. The roman numerals though WERE employed on the cover of the Gameboy mega man games.

  • @jeminni19 Either way you are still wrong >_> have you ever wondered about megaman x then came megaman x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8? If those were supposed to be 11,12,13 and the such the number would be a roman numeral. Aside in Megaman X there is no mention of Rush, Roll, Protoman or even Wily for that matter. AND Inafune himself confirmed it is a completely separate Megaman franchise. x6 and beyond were not done with the involvement of Inafune however. Wikipedia is your friend.

  • @jeminni19 You're wrong.

  • is it just me, or does the solar man theme song kinda remind you of the old pokemon song that played everytime you battled a pokemon?

  • I beat solar man by spamming my attacks while jumping on the farthest right platform to damage and dodge his attacks and then run when he gets close to me to the farthest left platform.

  • Megaman X isnt hard to understand, X came right after 6...6 doesnt lead into 10..X i just his name...

  • The birds at 2:15 so reminded me of Heatman from Mega Man 2 :p

  • @jeminni19 Technically its capcom's game...so they can do whatever the hell they want with it..

  • Man, I thought I suck at Megaman, and then I saw your "raw" gameplay... Now I know I suck for sure ): I can handle the other series easily, though, only the Classic series is the hardest for me. D: I think it's because I played the X series first, so I got used to the Dash, Zero's Double Jump, Wall Slide/Jump and etc...

  • @jeminni19 Mega Man and Mega Man X are two different characters. The X stands for X. Actually the first Mega Man X game came out when they made Mega Man 6..

  • @XxRelmxX

    Ignore jeminni19, He's a dumbass that doesn't know what he's talking about.
