  • @tacobread3 hmm if you manage everything well you should be able to makeenough by next october to be a walk on... buy cheap shoes... a physical isn't too much but i dont remmeber how much. Other then that i think your good... but yeah i get what you mean. Try seeing if you know anyone with spare shoes.

  • @vespaman101 well im a college kid with low income. i dont receive financial aid and i cant work right now because i have family to take care of. with wrestling i have to pay for my physical, wrestling shoes, and im pretty sure other things too. but i feel this is a temporarily problem. it will pass and i will wrestle. until then i will always train and be ready for my opportunity.

  • @tacobread3 why does it cost you money?

  • @blibjersey Yeah no doubt man. Hammer was definitely THE team. Shore Thing had a lot of talent from Brick Memorial and Point but Hammer did have the best of the best at that time. I only ever saw Miles do it in a couple dual meets where Damion seriously outclassed his opponent. That said, Miles and Damion were never anything but gracious and nice people. They did a lot to elevate the image of Shore Conference wrestling NJ between them and the Worthy's.

  • @ravager135 Really? I never actually saw him do it to anyone, but I guess in reflection its not too surprising having known him. I wrestled for Hammer and then the Edge, but you were just starting as my hs career finished. Shore Thing had some good wrestlers, but then again all the wrestlers in the Shore Conference were good; so its just such a high level of competition. I agree, very good times!

  • @Bean55jP Oh ok, I read the portion of the record wrong. I thought you said Damion was 19-5. Shore Conference is the hardest conference in the state in my opinion and puts out the majority of the NJ legends. Half of us probably would have been State Champs in other states. I had to go up against Pritzlaff one year and then Hahn the next. 2 future NCAA champs. I guess it really did suck for all of us!

  • @blibjersey Yeah this guys story did sound weird. We wrestled Lakewood every year on our schedule and Hahn was actually a good friend of a girl I knew. There were no Monmouth county rankings (Lakewood is in Ocean anyway). Asbury Park Press put rankings out but we were never listed by county; it was by win-loss only. Miles did sometime give the thumbs up or down though... it was kinda queer in my opinion. I also wrestled for Shore Thing from 1998-2000. Good times.

  • i wish i could wrestle. if only i had the money....

  • I wasn't the best or even great I was ok.

  • I was wrestling with the shore thing wrestling club against team hammer. You can believe what you like. I'm not trying to be a smart ass. It may have been regional rankings not county. Over all in hs I was 60-32. I was 19-5 the year that I wrestled him. My only point was that I was a pretty good wrestler in my area and he beat me like it was his job!!!
