Our road network is a transport system, not 'sport' based. I don't want motorcyclists blasting through urban 30mph limits at 60mph+ - what precisely is unfair about the system as it stands?

The police have very little to do with speed enforcement, 98% of all speeding prosecutions are brought by civilians or static cameras.

The 'cosine effect' (reading a vehicle's speed from an angle), is always to the benefit of the motorist.  The greater the angle, the less the recorded speed.

Speedscopes can't 'lie'. That is a human trait only.

@UNOMINER The police don't benefit in any financial/monetary way from speed enforcement, it all goes to the government, which is why some forces are reducing the use of speed cameras. Can you supply any evidence that supports your claim about 'millions' being earnt?

Cameras dontlie so why do vans with roller shutter doors get fines speeding when they know full well you can get accurate reading off one. Camera lies as its measuring the speed of the doors rattling

Just like an officer using hand held may be aiming at windscreen and then at front of vehicle so appears to be going faster.

If they needed to protect pedestrians why they on motorway where speed drops from 70 to 50 somewhere in south. Earns local police millions and no road works there either
