Bachmann Defends Life on the House Floor

Rep. Bachmann and members of the Pro-Life Women's Caucus take to the House Floor to defend life and give their perspective on the true impact of taxpayer funded abortion. President Obama has proposed repealing the Dornan Amendment, legislation that currently prevents the taxpayer funding of abortion in the District of Columbia.

The pregnant rape victim, just as any pregnant woman, faces a most difficult decision. However, abortion does not erase the brutality of the rape. While abortion might seem to be the proper way to rid the woman's womb of the rapist's genes (via his child), this is not the right choice. Although the criminal has achieved his goal to dominate and terrify his victim, while concomitantly spreading his genes, killing the rape-child is wrong. Keep the child or put it up for adoption.

A woman has the right to take birth control. She has the right to practice safe sex. She has the right to abstain from sex. She has the right to abstain from sex while in ovulation. Pregnancy is highly preventable. Abortion (the right to kill the unborn) is not a CHOICE that a woman needs given the overwhelming amount of choices she has to avoid pregnancy to begin with. Why are the left the 'humanitarians' when they think abortion is a highly acceptable right that should be funded by tax dollars
