@podge18 Not flat Steve Ray Vaughn was known to play one half step down, ergo D#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D#

Thanks Anthony! Great lesson! This is the most detailed explanation I have seen. It really helps for a beginner

Great Lesson by Hedo Turkoglu of the Blues Guitar !

@avrilfan1234546 damn it that makes sense, When I try to improve bass with Stevie songs i notice I have to play every note flat
-
This is good but i can play better.

What you call chunk a chunk rhythm is really called palm mute. Most blues songs are in that progression, and some rock songs are too. By the way good lesson, keep on playing and rock on.

Hey to avoid you're middle finger from hitting the low E string, what I do is I mute the strings with my strumming hand. On the down stroke, use your wrist to mute the strings as if you where going to palm mute it, but slide Best I can describe it. down a bit so it completely mutes it. Your basically sliding your wrist or palm onto the strings while playing. Sorry but that's the best I can do at explaining it.

@zpartan531 it's Eb, (Eb,Ab,Db,Gb,Bb,Eb) every string is half step down
-
I'm pretty sure it's tuned down a half step (Eb, Ab, etc.)
wow thats weird. i never knew it was called chunk to chunk picking. thats seriously how i normally pick my guitar. i have since i started. it was hard to learn to not do that. and thank you Anthony. im glad theres someone out there who goes into a pretty good depth on how to play this song. most people just go ok heres where your fingers go this is how you pick it then good bye. you really helped me out. thank you so much man.

I don't know if it's offically called "chunk-a-chunk". That's just how I thought it was best described. :-)

Great lesson. Tell me please, what kind of sound do you use? Stevie used overdrive, or I'm mistaken?

I typically have the amp a bit distorted for rhythm and then add in a boost with some additional distortion for lead playing.
