Fauré, the grandmaster of french art song and mélodie, composed this beautiful song in 1861 at the age of 16 ! It is officially listed as "Op.1 No1". Title and lyrics are by Victor Hugo.
(Originally written for voice and piano. The transcription for guitar was made by St.Karpati.)
