On March 1, 2002, my father died. I was his youngest son and was the only one in the hospital room with him when he passed. Karate Kid II has always been a personal movie for me, because of this scene, because everything that Daniel describes is exactly what happened to me. I always felt that I had been the least favorite of my father's children, and yet, at the very end, it was I alone who was with him when he passed. I weep everytime I watch this scene. I love you, Dad.

This is a wonderful scene in a little movie. Watch Pat Morita's acting here. Without saying anything he displays so much emotion! I wonder what he was thinking about to actually tear up like that.

part 3, I just really Do not like Will Smith's kidsat all, Jaden is full of himself and his daughter Willow is fucking annoying. I liked Will smith for along time, I respected him, bu I do not like his family(other Jada

part2 the scenero would have been A young african-american male learns martial arts to kick a drug habit from a eccentric Chinese restaurant chef, picture Pai Mei from Kill bill teaching him to cook while learning to sword fight, while he must learn to protect his San Fransico neighborhood from ancient Chinese demons and a sorcerer. I might still use this, but when this movie was announced I was pissed off, I felt it beat me to the punch. WHile I still do not like the movie, I admit it is okay

@Shanethefilmmaker I must admit this though, I think alot of my own hatred for the film(which I dont hate as much as I used to) is based on I had slight feeling of being beaten to the punch. Before the announcement of this movie, I was in the middle of writing a script with a similar premise,

@darkservantofheaven true they already put him in the country the sequel would have taken place in anyway. Unless they screw it up and put them in Jaden's home country.

and I definitively don't think that he remake deserves a sequel. I mean what the fuck can they do?

This entire scene kicks the ass of the remake. Don get me wrong, I though the remake was okay, but the relationship between Miyagi and Daniel was much more powerful than Mr. Han and Dre's. it may have been Miyagi's wisdom and quirkiness that made him more lovable, or Daniel's innocence and Nativity made him more interesting. Did Daniel fuck up, sure, but he was a good guy. Dre was kind of a little asshole, while he didn't deserve to be bullied, but I enjoyed seeing him get his ass kicked,
A special scene. It is this moment and few others that make Karate Kid, Part II the most powerful chapter of the trilogy. It is this moment where there is no question that Miyagi and Daniel have become father and son.
