Deepak and jean did a horrible job defending religion. Going into watching this debate I was a deist I think I 'm a athiest now.

Nooo if you're a deist you don't believe in an personal god but believe in a higher power. Atheist don't believe in a personal god nor an higher power. When I say higher power I mean the one responsible for the big bang, the first cause. But thats where it ends, I don't think god ever interfered in are affairs, EVER!! So to reply to your comment, yes there is a differene between the two.

@Wordlaw12: I never said "there is no difference"... I merely stated what the word a-theist actually means, it is a person who is not a theist... as a deist, are you a theist or not? You are not, ergo, you are, like it or not, an a-theist... The fact that people misuse the word to mean something completely different is beside the point... itŽs the same case as the "I am agnostic" discussion... anyone who has no belief in a personal, theistic, god is by the definition of the word an atheist...

I see, well I'm a person who doesn't believe in a personal deity. Like I said I believe in the first cause, thats what I consider god. I'm a strict deist which means that I also believe that it doesn't have to be a conscious being. It could've been some retarded energy that was floating about and made the explosion on accident. Whatever started the universe is what I consider god. I just didn't know that that type of theology qualified me as being an atheist. Nive vid by the way

I don't even know why she's on stage. Throughout the show she just kept telling her childhood stories and quoting other people without any input of her own. And 2pak is just mad cuz Sam and Michael see through his bs.

@creamrich that's not only what he said. Sam and Michael 100% agree with that. Chopra says much more mumbo jumbo than just that. He conflates quantum mechanics with consciousness. That is completely unfounded. He knows nothing about theoretical physics. If he did, he would see why it is so ridiculous.

@MoonSmokes We won't get anywhere being dishonest about humans and the nature of the universe. Deepak and Jean are dishonest... and just because they sound more diplomatic, doesn't mean we should be letting these people educate our kids. Sam Harris is a much greater teacher (of truth) than these two frauds. I'd like him to teach my kids.

@Jones436 Yes, she has fuck all to say really in this debate. Notice how many quotes she uses and how she NEVER successfully refutes anything Sam or Michael say. This was a massive powning from start to finish. Deepak and Jean were like fish out of water.
