  • I wonder where they filmed these CBS TV show previews?

  • ahhh the good old days! and also, the 3 weeks of shows, 2 weeks hiatus thing didnt start until the last decade or so. before then, u may have an occasional week not aired, but from September til about april or may, you had ur show everyweek. pretty soon we are going to have a couple of 2 hour mini series type episodes and then be done for the year! actors had it alot harder back then!

  • @emmtampa And they didn't start airing reruns three weeks into the season like they do now.

  • I love it! Thanks for posting.

  • Pete and Gladys mentioned at the begiining of this clip was a spinoff of December Bride..

  • Excuse me: amazon!

  • Andy Griffith Show discussed in great new bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter) at amzon!

  • WOW!

    Great to see this!

This promo was the LAST time you'd see Andy Griffith play Andy Taylor as a "HICK!"

With the second season, Andy realised he had to play the "straight man" to all these "hicks" in Mayberry. So, if you'll notice, Andy's character changed in the 2nd season.

Andy mellowed out and became the "voice of reason."

Andy's speach pattern and accent even changed!

"The Andy Griffith Show " was the first TV "spinnoff" ever!

    From "The Danny Thomas Show!"

  • It's not that there are no talented writers, it's that the industry is not encouraging better writing. What you see is the "taste,: of the lack of it on the part of the programming executives who places shows to impress those in their own circle. They have no connection or feeling for their audience. In the arrogance, they think you will watch such things because it is there.

  • HAHA So true
