It wasa duet between paul and john John had sang it all but it was on a small tape recorder so paul had to do his best John voice so its actually both of them
Yes, the liner notes to Anthology 2 noted that Paul did indeed sing along with Lennon's vocal to give strength to the occasionally thin sound of the original cassette recording. There were also some issues with a loud hum from that original source tape, which producer Jeff Lynne removed as best he could. The great thing about McCartney was that he could sound like anybody he wanted - he was a great vocal mimic.
It was explained in the Anthology (I think it was the Anthology anyway). It's actually John singing, I know that. If you search for The Beatles Anthology on here, there's a couple of people that have put the entire thing up. It would be one of the last videos where they talked about how they did this though.
