Derek, who mistakenly thought Casey was coming onto him, raped her. She remembers every touch of his, instead of brotherly or even romantically, as grossly sexual and unwanted. The images, however, come to her unbidden.

Casey's POV. The color images of Derek represent that he's the only thing that feels real to her, the only thing she can feel.
