This little film shows, how I made a massive wooden cabinet (beechwood) for my A-100 modular. It was a lot more work than it shows here. What the film does not show is the laquering of the cabinet.

I am very lucky with this new cabinet, it looks great :-)

  • I am trying to build one similar to yours at the moment, Would you be able to give me the width measurements of the front inside? I want to make sure my modules fit snug on the ends. Also what kind of material did you use for the back?

  • @Camaron4785 it's the same like the "low cost case" from doepfer. See doepfer's page

  • Nice casing!

BTW, I hear some songs from JMJ, The Concerts in China, good choice :)

  • DIY nackt :-)

  • Do you always do your carpentry naked ;)

  • @Robbinsffxi Sorry, I'm not much of an expert... to be honest, that's the first time I've heard of controller boards! I know a bit about modulars but not much more :s

  • @bjcsupertortoise Thanks. I got mot self into making my own Keyboard case. Looks like a small prophet 08 in shape. My issues now is that I want a controller board for Fatar keys, modwheels, CV-put and MIDI in/out, and doepfer stuff doesn't help me much there. I'm searching and asking around hoping to find the ultimate controller board. if you know anything, I would be happy to hear. :)

  • @AnalogAudio Könnte ich dann dein altes haben ? Ich plane mir auch einen Doepfer Modular zuzulegen, un ich möchte genau die gleichen Komponenten wie du haben !!

  • @Robbinsffxi There is the Doepfer Monster Case base unit, which has a flat strip for modules and one behind that tilted upwards. You could combine that with their CV keyboard...? :-)
