as an Irish person I came across Micallef when paramount used to run the Micallef programme late at nights. Mentioen I thought iw as brilliant to some Aussie I knew. tehy thought it wasn't funny at all. then again they were thick

Classic stuff- have just watched all three seasons on dvd and loved them. Season 3 was done in 2001 and sadly its doubtful they would get produced today- the three commercial networks are so terrified of risk, any show that takes a few episodes to build up an audience has no hope and the testicularly-challenged ABC is now simply too terrified of offending anybody. Meanwhile one of the funniest men in Australia is stuck doing a glorfied gameshow on channel 10. Bring back the 90s!

I love this, they sound so natural as they do this, as if this were actually a real conversation and not on a comedy show. I've often heard people say comedians can't act, I'm going to direct them to this video from now on!

Why don't we see quality like this on Australian TV more often. We've got so many funny people like these, and yet all we make is Cops n' doctors.
I hope one day power is wrested from the three major channels and we will see quality Australian content come flooding rather than trickling back

Haha. I rarely laugh out loud when watching todays "comedys". I just cant refrain myself from bursting out with laughter when watching Micallef, such good humor. Its a shame it is not appreciated by more people.
