http://blog.dubspot.com/ipad-touchosc/ Tony Grund is back in Part 2 of the Dubspot iPad TouchOSC tutorial series, to talk about connecting your IPad, and TouchOSC, to your computer. Keep in mind, you can use it with any software that accepts MIDI control change data. Be sure to check out Part 1, 3, and 4 of the series.

  • mmmm... coke.

  • @DubSpot or anyone really: Every single thing in the video worked, but when i tried to use it with the als file it wouldn't work. Like the signal just wasn't going through or something. Any ideas?

  • @gedbeat15 it doesnt need to be 8000, so long as the two ports match. make it like 8001 on both iPad and Mac

  • What do I do when Osculator says "routing has stopped, Port 8000 already in use"?

  • so i downloaded the stuff from the site but the osculator file says its the wrong format and not readable. any ideas or new osculator file to get???

  • @tbizhere You dont need a "home" wifi network at all. If you see in the video he creates a network from the laptop. In essence the laptop becomes the router and the iPad connects directly to the laptop (its called an Ad-Hoc network, all modern operating systems and most new wifi cards can support them) So with that in mind, you could DJ in a cave 10 miles below the earths surface, just as long you are in within 25m (dependent on wifi card) of the computer. Hope that clears things up. :)

  • Actually found out how this does work on windows! You gotta use Pure Data. And Midi Yoke!

  • need wifi to use this - utterly useless playing anywhere besides your bedroom. Unless your the type of guy that performs in coffee shops with free wifi.

    What a shame.
