@Shep11111 If we don't know how it's really formed then we don't know how fast it's formed either. We base that on the "theory" that oil is made up of decaying organic material, even though oil is found thousands of feet deeper than any fossil has ever been found.

It is impossible for organic materal to reach that depth in the earth and it's more likely that oil is abiotic product of the Earth.

Peak oil is a myth anyway. There will always be oil because it is a natural product of the earth and does not come from decaying organisms like eyeryone believes.
