They call my love the girl who does the Tequila Samba,
Ev'ry night she dances for all to see.
When they start those players playing,
Ostinatos, rhythms swaying,
Then there's nowhere else I would rather be.

She doesn't seem the sort of girl you'd expect to Samba,
It's true at first she strikes you as rather shy.
But just give my love a sip of Tequila,
play the chords and she will reveal a spirit dancing joyously for the sky,

I admit that it's true without Tequila the sparkles less.
Though a glass or two of Bubbly can help her effervesce,
I know I've seen her turn flamenco on only two Martinis,
But it's certainly the Samba that she does best.
Why not come along 'cos she loves a crowd to watch her do the Tequila Samba,
The more there are the better the dance will be.
But though it seems like extroversion,
she is not that kind of person.
I know that she's doing it all for me.

Once there were days before I knew the Tequila Samba,
The wasted years before she came my way.
Before my nervous imagination ever felt the ease and elation,
When my glist'ning world was a boring grey.

And then she came to me and danced the Tequila Samba,
Swaying bright and graceful across the floor.
I flung away conservatism, captured by her magnetism,
Now my heart will dance with her ever more.

You can see that she's bright and cool and laughing she's soft and sweet;
She's beautiful and radiant dancing off the beat
and when the night is fine and starry then pour the third Tequila,
She'll very soon be Sambaing in the street, she syncopates and captivates
and I know I'll always love to watch the Tequila Samba,
To see my love entrancing the gathered throng.
When they play the syncopation, Then she's found her true vocation,
Still Tequila Sambaing all night long.
For my sake, Still Tequila Sambaing all night long!
