"R v Ahluwalia" became the monumental court case that changed the nature of British law forever, as affords the 'Provocation Defense' - the acceptance of Battered Woman's Syndrome as a legal state of mind, in accordance with defendants who suffered extended physical abuse at the hands of a spouse. So, this case of a battered woman changed the law and therefore helped the other women in her situation. At the end of the day it is totally wrong to set on fire your husband.

Whatever you may say, I have some questions that must be answered
1 - Why not leave him?
2- Is killing the only option for ones in trouble?
3 - Did she not know the police number after living there for 10 years?
p.s This movie's stereotyping to an extent that it makes me sick

WHAT THE FUCK? She is there to play a role, and extremely important role which she enacted brilliantly. She is isn't there to look pretty for you.
