They are beautiful dogs, jim! We had a mini for 17 years, and I still miss him several years later. Just fantastic dogs, aren't they?

@jil16 They're wonderful with allergies. They don't shed, as they have hair instead of fur. Their biggest cost is grooming, as their hair never stops growing and needs to be maintained often. As for exercise, I would recommend 35-45 minutes a day. These dogs are strong and powerful and need the proper exercise to keep up their muscles and spirits!

LOL I've got a black standard poodle a brown one and a white one. :) They are strange as they all have their own personalities. Mine don't have Weird haircuts though =D

poodles like all dogs, require someone at home. Get a cat or a caged animal.

my poodale trained by the expectant mother reacted with kisses to my granddaughter as did their pitbull.
dog must be of age to enjoy the child. The only dog i know of that lovs kids right off is an airedale.

You only need to baby train the dog before letting it near a small child. Baby dog and baby kids don't mix...want to see my scared butt from beautiful german silver shepered puppy?

They are perfect for people with allergies or asthma. I like to walk my dogs at least twice a day. They also need at least 30 minutes to run around and play. Depsite what many people think, they are very athletic dogs so they are much happier & more obedient when they get their exercise! They love going to the dog park to run around with other dogs. Playing fetch with a tennis ball is also a big hit with them. (they are retrievers & hunting dogs)

Hi V848 - Standard Poodles are usually good with kids - the puppies can be boisterous, so you need to watch out that a small child is not knocked over. Otherwise, they are full of fun & playfulness!
