It is a myth that birds will reject eggs and baby birds if they "smell" like humans. Birds have a very poor sense of smell.

i love birds are you sure the wood chips have no oils

It is important for the baby birds to hatch out of the eggs by themselves because this helps them gain strength. if you help it break out of the egg, it causes them to be weak. Next time, don't help the bird and next time, let the formula cool.

You're not supposed to "help" them! They're supposed to do it themselves! God you're an idiot.

can you please help me... i think last week robin layed the eggs in our backyard area... now i dont see her around not sure what to do. How long does it take...i am too nervous. I dont know what the temperature is for them... not sure if i am suppose to turn them. please guide me.... ill gather up some worms for them to eat

Robins don't eat formula. They need no food for the first 2 days. After that they get tiny bits of worm, as much as they want to eat. Just a tiny tap on the nest causes them to lift up their head, open their mouth wide so you can drop in a piece of work. Tweezers work perfectly as a holder for the worm. It simulates the mom's beak. Once the bir eats. it'll hike it's butt to poop. That needs to be removed or it can breed bacteria. No water if needed for robins. They get moisture 100% from worms.
