dude it has cupholders O.o

Wow, your product measures gross torque!?!? What, you say it is a more efficient way of measure when it comes to lawn products? Omg, must buy... lol not really.

@CalamityJesus, & @MoronAntidote : Thanks. saved me a good 2 hours of wasted google and wikipedia time.

I have never heard so much crap in my life. You don't know what you are talking about!!!!!! I am talking about the video.

torque != power
torque = force

plus, a generator is going to run at exactly 3600 rpm, any higher or lower would throw the 60hz phase off.

@CalamityJesus Could you please explain what torque is to acceleration, maximum speed and speed maintenance? I'm really curious and no one seems to be able to explain adequately
Torque is not a measure of power at all, it is a measure of rotational force. Power is a function of force multiplied by distance over time. Torque and power are two different things. Through special gearing I could create 1000lb-ft of torque by pedaling my legs, but even an olympic cyclist would have trouble making 0.5 HP for more than half an hour. Sure, torque is important to look at when comparing a straight driven peice of equipment, but it is not "more important" than HP.

This is so wrong. People have a hard enough time understanding torque and horsepower without this shit.
Torque is rotational force of the engine .
Power is the product of engine torque and rpm.
Thrust is dependant on the power at a given rpm, the gearing and drive wheel diameter. This is why power to weight ratio is the best indicator of vehicle acceleration, assuming optimal gearing.
