Pop-up shops are the first port-of-call for any brand trying to launch something cool these days but nobody had yet created a digital pop-up shop. Much less an entirely live, real-time digital pop-up shop that was open to anybody, anywhere.
But that is exactly what we did.
Our pop-up shop had everything a normal pop-up shop would have: fabulous assistants, beautifully dressed windows and a prime location just off Londons Carnaby Street.
But this physical shop front was literally just that: a front. And all the real action happened online.
Through media and social media partnerships, we arranged for our pop-up shop to live across a number of large fashion sites and smaller fashion blogs. But it was only ever going to open on one of these at a time, remaining closed on all of the others until, as suddenly as it opened, it closed and opened once more on another site.
Through our Facebook hub, the Caramel Bunny spoke constantly with her fans dropping clues as to where the Nibbles Boutique might open next. But she was careful never to say too much and so the frenzy begun.
By the time the Nibbles Boutique first opened, some people had been waiting for 12 hours to see it Open.
And as soon as it did, all it took was one click of a button to join the queue.
The best bit?
It all worked. And as one customer made their way to the front of the queue after another, our shop assistants worked tirelessly to serve every one of them personally talking to every one by name, and packaging their scarf for them there and then.
This is extremely cool, and I'd love to see more campaigns run like this!
