Pete started up his 79 Trans Am. We bought this car in 1988 and it went down in 1991. Pete works on it every now an then, keeping the dream alive. New Years Resolution. Have it drivable by Christmas 2008.
This is my bird. She needs to have the valve rockers shimmed up .010 to compensate for the heads being shaved. This should improve the idle and the off idle throttle response. The exhaust is still open and doesn't help problems. Also that was a warm up on 87 octain and with 10.0:1 compression, some carb backfire can be expected along with the intake valves being out just a little because of the shaved heads. Those are 2.07 intake and 1.74 exhasts valves in D casting heads with a 810cfm Quad.
