Laser doesn't even come on...

Got a PS3 that is not reading or spinning the disc. I opened it up and did the clear disc trick (thanks for uploading such great videos junker15) and now I can see that the laser doesn't even light up. Anyone know if this is fixable with an assembly swap?

Ordered a new KES-400A laser lens so we'll see what happens.


[UPDATE]
New laser came in and I followed this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geQvuAaq5jU to install it. Drive is working fine now plays Bluray, DVD, and CD once again. Huzzah.

hey man i have the same problem i am ordering another laser a KES-400A and it should work perfectly. After watching other videos of the same problem the people just changed the laser and it worked again so thats probably the best solution to this problem and the laser costs 40$ CAD around there

try lining up the two black sides on the isnide all u have to do is push the black side on the right side up and that should work
