Why can't people realize the benefits of windpower. It seems like a no-brainer

There are people that completely deny the advantages of windpower as an alternative to fossil fuels. It is a no-brainer, because it offers essentially free, continuous energy. They are low maintenance, are relatively cheap, and of course clean. They are clearly better alternatives to our current energy sources.

What is "vague" about me pointing out the sheer size and scale of these things, and the many complaints that proposed installations receive? You've got to be a wind shill of some sort. People turn blind when they make money from industrial blight.

What angers me is that it's supposedly being done to "help the environment." Pardon folk like me who consider natural scenery to an integral part of the environment!

You're using false context that pretends wind turbines are somehow *replacing* existing eyesores. They are encumbering the landscape in *addition* to those other eyesores. It's cumulative. And wind turbines have qualities that make them stick out on the landscape more than other structures.

In the Columbia river zone of northeast OR & southeast WA, the blight has become shocking in its scale recently, and many more are planned. They are devastating rural landscapes and it's really a shame.

And your arguments aren't vague? Why so much anti-wind propaganda? I can think of a hell of a lot more undesirable things that could be in place of them. You support maintaining natural landscapes, but don't support wind turbines. Ok, now what, coal? Have you seen what coal mining does to a landscape? What about an oil refinery, or a nuke plant? We need electricity somehow, this is the 21st century.

"Continuous energy" is a lie, you know. Wind isn't constant, even in the windiest places. Are you a shill of some sort? Your arguments seem deliberately vague and obtuse.

Read the "Darmstadt Manifesto" online. The Germans know all too well what these things do to landscapes. Of course, it's expected that one is not a soulless industrialist when reading anti wind turbine arguments. Some people are just technology zombies and could care less about natural landscapes.
