which person would stand a better chance at getting hired with a fire department,person A who is a paramedic but doesnt have a degree in fire science,or person B who is just an emt but has a degree in fire science??

I hate the flipping pictures being taken!!

@TheDonmaster99 All CA fire/EMS vehicles are required to have a single steady burning red light showing to the front while running code three. Actually, that single red light is all the is required by CA law if my memory serves me correctly. All the rest are for safety of course, but the single red is all the law says is required. Crazy, eh?

@EMT308 whats that?

@ZBeeb Ok, cool. Thnx for the input!

one day i will work for SJFD. hope the city gets its budget problems together so the future of the department is strong!
So I see that all CA emergency vehicles still have to have the steady read to the front?

@EMT308 Yes, California Steady burn is still a reality.

Didn't this engine get laid off and it was changed to a truck company?
ECgod77 7 months ago
@ECgod77 Last Summer (2010) San Jose FD laid off 49 firefighters, which resulted in Engines 30, 33, 34 and 35 being closed. So yes, this engine company was closed. Truck 18 was moved from Station to Station 35, and became Truck 35, there is a video of Truck 35 leaving here in my Video Stream somewhere, check out my YouTube Channel (click on my username).
Recent changes to budget and a federal grant mean that SJFD is hiring people back, maybe Engine 35 will come back as part of this.

whats the other "S" for

@ellisfd4821son All Fire Departments in California are assigned a unique 3 letter identifier code, by each department having their own code you can tell the difference between San Jose Engine 1 and Santa Clara Engine 1, or even harder Santa Clara City (SNC) Engine 1 and Santa Clara County (CNT) Engine 1...
The codes are assigned upon request by a State Government agency, it's just an identifier, it doesn't really stand for anything.
