To Nicky Hopkins instrumental Girl from Mill Valley, Micha van Dam added these vocals.
Nicky Hopkins (1944 - '94) was an English pianist and one of the most important session musicians in the history of Rock. He recorded with almost everyone!
He also recorded five (almost) solo albums.

In this movie, you see some records that Nicky Hopkins contributed to.
In 1967, Nicky Hopkins joined the Jeff Beck Group and played on their albums Truth ['68] and Beck-Ola ['69].
On Beck-Ola, Jeff Beck played guitar, Ron Wood bass guitar, Tony Newman drums, Nicky of course piano, and the extraordinarily rough, soulful and bluesy singing was done by Rod Stewart.
Girl from Mill Valley is an instrumental Nicky Hopkins track from the Beck-Ola album. In my opinion the song just asked for completion, for vocals! So I wrote a melody and lyrics, and recorded this demo version in 2007.
By the way, my name is Micha van Dam, and I come from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I write and record songs. Please check w w w . T h e A g e s . n l
In my mind, I could hear Rod Stewart sing this. Writing this, I tried to imitate his style on Beck-Ola. Of course I can't avoid some Micha-ness creeping in, but I hope you get the idea.
I'd love Rod Stewart to sing Girl from Mill Valley, but it proved too hard for a nobody like me to reach either Jeff Beck or Rod Stewart, let alone Nicky Hopkins, who moved on to the next music stage in 1994.
So, I decided to put my desperate attempt to sound like the 1969-Rod Stewart on YouTube. I hope you like it.
Great job, mate.....right spot on with t he lyrics.....if you were a td older, I'll bet jeff beck would have hired you on!!
