A Stroll Along the Rue Du Bac

A 17-minute stroll along the entire length of the Rue du Bac in the charming Seventh Arrondissement of Paris. This street is a very nice street with practically no tourist traffic. Lots of shops and cafés and restaurants, and mostly local residents. Shot in almost one continuous take, hand-held, on a very nice day at the end of August. The street extends from the Bon Marché department store all the way to the Seine River, and this video covers its entire length.

@idram7 I live in Paris. I'm occasionally hassled or assaulted for filming. These days people are extremely paranoid about cameras, even if they think you're a tourist.

Impressive camera work. I'm guessing that your camera has optical stabilization.

@VideoDave2 Yes, this camera (a small Sony Handycam) has optical stabilization, and it's "active," meaning that it tries to anticipate regular movements. This makes the image even more stable, although sometimes the stabilization anticipates incorrectly and you see a sudden shift in the image as it corrects itself. The sudden shifts are usually vertical but sometimes horizontal pans will cause them as well.
