Jascha Heifetz plays Joseph Achron's 'Hebrew Melody' for Victor in 1917. This was one of Heifetz's earliest commercial recording session. He was only 17(!) years old when he recorded this. The vibrato is just fantastic, and the performance itself is full of emotion.
This record was belonged to my great-grandfather, who loved this record so much that he played this over and over again until the record was heavily worn out like this. So the sound quality is really TERRIBLE, but I hope you can understand it.
Played on my Numark machine.

@chkjns there're some early 1900s stuff by Sarasate and Scriabin themselves playing. Pretty amazing, if you havent found them yet. There are also quite a few recordings of early Rachmaninov.

Your great-grandfathers beloved recording is now in my 1917 playlist. I'm building an ever-expanding music history channel with over 500 playlists so far. My lists feature most genres & cover the globe. 111 lists let you hear the music of any year since 1900 like you've stepped back in time. Having a tough time filling out pre-1925, so this addition is much appreciated!
Thanks for honoring your past by posting this gem!
