Chicagoland Junction Series: Joliet Union Station, 10-23-09.

Class was over so I thought I'd pay a visit to Joliet Union Station.

12:04PM-
With the construction of Union Pacific's new Global Four in South Joliet, MOW equipment is commonly seen going to and from the site. A GREX work train shoves West on the BNSF Chillicothe Subdivision with Self Propelled Slot #6000 at the rear.

12:24PM-
Chicago-bound Metra 514 departs right on schedule.

Traffic has subsided on the Rock Island and sure enough, two line-ups appear on the BNSF. Soon enough, a Westbound Z-train comes into sight and thunders across the diamonds.

The tail end of the first Z-train goes out of view as an Eastbound comes into view with H1 power leading.

Metra 511 arrives into Joliet 5 minutes late due to the usual excuse- "track construction".

The Northbound Texas Eagle arrives into Joliet right on time ready to set off and pick up passengers. Surprised they didn't have the sightseer lounge in the consist...
