Generally speaking, you don't need to leave your Wi-Fi turned on when your screen is turned off, and Android has a settings area where you can set your Wi-Fi sleep time accordingly. It's buried pretty deep in the settings, so some people may not even know it exists.

To make sure your Wi-Fi radio is set how you want it (to maximize battery life, or to maximize convenience), watch the video to see what you need to do.

  • When this man says "Howabout a quickie" you should run.

  • I tried this, but it doesn't work. I set the wi-fi sleep for "15 min". Then I go back to the home screen and turn it off. After 15 minutes I turn it on to check, the connection is still active and the settings are back on "never". Why won't is stick?

  • well i just got a mytouch 4g and people if there anybody here that has that fone please comment and tell me if putting it after 15mims saves alot of battery?

  • Why is he screaming and why it's a 7 min video???

  • Why is he screaming?

  • Thanks battery life sucks on my mytouch 4G

  • What is the battery life on the My touch 4G?

  • what about turning off wifi completely? does it take more battery to use the browser on wifi or thru tmobile? (on the mytouch)

  • Does anybody know if turning on wifi when it is available is always a good idea, or does it only save power if your data connection is spotty and constantly trying to connect? I have heard both, but I don't know what to believe.

  • thanks for this i needed this for my mytouch 4g
