  • @flyromeo3 Agreed! I've just completed a Zero-Touch Windows 7 process for my business which includes USMT. We've got 8 different locations within the same state, but several across other states within the US. I couldn't expect a field support technician to hop on a plane to fly out to someone's office to sit there and babysit an OS Deployment. The fact is, large organizations NEED deployment "solutions", not just another process.

  • @plutionium33.....ever heard of working smarter and not harder? Maybe YOUR job isn't challenging enough to expose you to the various other pieces of technology available that will free up your time to focus on other tasks.

Thats what Information Technology is all about.

  • @plutionium33 because IT doesn't want to drive around the country manually installing 2000 computers, when they have more important things to do.

on second thought: change country to continent as we have branches in 5 different countries

  • Never going to as fast a build as a USB ghost install. I have installed 2GB images disk to disk on sata bus in less than 1 min !!! Clean, no network bandwidth waste nor n/w chatter corrupting the image install.... Why can't IT support staff get their hands a bit dusty on site ?? Are we THAT lazy now ?? We used to have wind up windows , now we have power options for everything ... we R def lazier as humans... reduced cost of ownership , my arse.. its BS..

  • Very nice. This is how imaging should be done.
