PORT ANGELES, WA - Election officials in Clallam County, the voting area that includes Port Angeles, have been counting ballots for several days.

Voters in this region cast their ballot by mail.

Republican and Democratic observers sit nearby as the ballots pass through a machine, and scrutinize every vote in an election that is being closely watched.

Election officials expect a turnout of more than 80 percent in this region, a vote driven by strong opinions and passion.

It's a race that's expected to be close, not only for the U.S. President, but for the Governor's seat in Washington State.

It's why political parties are spending the remaining minutes of the campaign getting out every last vote.

Both parties believe they will win.

But KNOP Radio News Director, Todd Ortloff sees Obama clinching a second term, despite trouble with the economy.

"I honestly think that people thought that Barack Obama, within a year or so, would change the entire country," says Ortloff. "And I know a lot of people who were Republicans and voted for him under that same auspices -- they thought that was going to happen. And I think they're disappointed."
