  • Terrific video. Especially liked what Allan had to say for design firms and their leaders, “If you’re so smart, you should be smart enough to figure this out … If you get hired to design X number of buildings, be clever enough to do it in a way that is low impact or low impact.”

  • It's the so-called "developed" countries who have caused most of the damage.

  • Greenest thing you can do is kill off everyone in rapidly developing countries with bamboo crossbows, but that's not very nice.

  • I like it. The middle panelist said it best, it is about re-imagining, redefining what we are about and where we find our sense of meaning. It is not about things, it is about creating a great quality of life, that we can achieve in a sustainable future.

That is a quantum shift of mindset, which we can do with the right combination of desire and help.

  • OK so the greenest thing I can do is not have children... How about this, YOU don't have kids, and don't by a drill etc. you can live in a cave for all I care just don't impose your rules on me. After all, if you don't have any kids what the hell do you care about what is going to happen 50 or 100 years from now. that is if we are really talking about sustainable design.

  • The greenest thing you can do? Don't have children.

  • well said

  • it is about education and communication..

  • Some cash poor communities setup and use tool banks.

  • Thank god we have smart people like this in a world so full of ignorance and stupidity.
