Mike Huckabee (18%) and Mitt Romney (15%) top the list of people Republicans mention when asked whom they would most like to see as John McCain's vice presidential running mate.

If you listened to Huckabee in ANY of the debates you would know he is strong on the military. He has more experience than Romney in foreign policy...

wrong! True that the liberal media does not like Huckabee and he has been shunned for the past 2 mths. , vp talk. Yet he STILL aced the Rasumssen polls done 7/25-27 and helps McCain's ticket +8, Pawlenty +1, Romney who got touted in the press/media and all but coronated was a -6!!!

Elections are won because the PEOPLE vote and, whether you like it or not, the people love Huckabee and his populist message. He got so far on just message and messenger. He has led the survey usa election polls done in swing states CA,NM,PA,VA,MINN,MA,OH and in the Rasmussen polls done 7/25-27 after 2 mths. of Huck being shunned by the media, he STILL helps McCAin +8, Pawlenty +1 and Romney -6!! People want McCain/Huckabee.

Big Businees and the Market want Romney. The Big Defense wants McCain and the evangelicals want Huckster. The people will want Crist!

yes, I believe everything the press tells me. Especially if it is Pravda.

Obviously I am not an expert on the Huckster. From what I can tell the only place he campaigned with McCain was in Arkansas. there appears to be no other support for him except in Arkansas. Even Romney campaigned with McCain in more states, lots more.

As I pointed out earlier Huckster is a ONE pillar politician.

Romney may have another epiphony so who knows where he stands? Huckabee is strong on all three prongs. Gotta do your homework. Oh, and I agree with Huck on the abortion issue. Murdering innocents, or infanticide, is unconstitutional. 2 wrongs don't make a right. So if there's a rape, then murdering a baby as a result is some of the most selfish thinking. No regard for human life. Unalienable right - Life.

Crist? Might be a good way for McCain to lose in November. Same with Ridge.

Then you must not have read where he stands on the issues nor heard him speak regarding it. I heard the press, and it bore little resemblence, and even they recognized where she deviates from Huckabee's campaigning. You certainly don't believe every thing they tell you, do you?

You don't have your facts straight. Huckabee is absolutely for a strong military. Abortion is unconstitutional. Romney doesn't fit the bill on that issue. Huckabee knows how to get the biggest bang for his buck. Crist hasn't had enough experience and contributed to the problem in Fla. re: the Democratic primaries. Very unfair. Ridge would also cause many conservatives to sit this one out. And my Hindu, Sikh, and Muslim friends are also very conservative although not evangelical. Supported Huck

Paul would never take the job anyway. Maybe treasury secretary, but not VP. Huckabee complements McCain- what Mac lacks, Huck has in spades.
