A good look around Plaza De Armas in central Santiago, Chile. Here you can see artists, a nice fountain/statue honoring Simon Bolivar, there is a statue of Pedro de Valdivia (ca. 1502-1553) who was a Spanish conquistador and professional soldier. He initiated the conquest of Chile. In the bandstand are plenty of people playing chess. Surrounding the plaza are Correo Central, el Museo Histórico Nacional, and la Ilustre Municipalidad de Santiago. You can also see Catedral Metropolitana de Santiago though it was partially behind the temporary stage that was there from the previous day.
