This video "Hirokouji The disorientation in a small broad street" was recorded in August, 2009 at Ebisu Town, Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture. "Hirokouji" means broad street in Japanese.
Maybe, almost everyone would feel lengthy and think "I can't understand what you mean".
When I was a schoolboy, I went to Hamada fishing port with my classmates for painting a picture. On way back from fishing port, we went across Route 9 into the alley.
The alley had been narrowing by degrees. We went through two turning point. When we reached at the front of Hojuin-Temple's gate, the turning point appeared and the alley transformed itself broad street suddenly. I felt disoriented for a moment. That broad street was hirokouji.
I tried to experience the trick of eyesight again. and I thought "Was it possible to record that magical feeling in the video picture?". But it was not possible.
Maybe, playing unedited original data of this video by double speed would convey intended nuance just a bit.
This small broad street is the remnant of compartment in Edo Period (1603-1868).
A flower market is thrown before Bon holiday every year. In Hojuin-Temple, there is the grave of Furuta Shigetsune who was the second lord of Hamada domain .
After playing back this video, I have noticed that the opposite three-forked road would represent what I intend better than the small broad street itself.
At some future day, I would like to record this small broad street again into wide-screen.
About this video, I recorded this small broad street from three-way branch.
* Sorry, To convey intended nuance might go wrong by my mistakes in translation.

Thank you for your comments.
Well, I'm not Mr.Ebisu. (^^;
Maybe, Mr.Ebisu wouldn't know this movie.
But I know that you have good memories of Hamada city.
It's heartwarming experience for me.
Please search Youtube by keywords like "hamada station" or "Donchicchi".
I would like to record several new video-movies when I go back to Hamada city.
