From Standard Games, to Service Games, to SEGA, this is the history of SEGA's or should i say service games first console, the sega sg-1000 released in 1983 in japan. but never made it to the US, but the cool thing is that if you have a master system, and a bunch of SG-1000 games or mark II or III games, you can play em on your master system!

  • SEGA = service games

  • I know, and before service games, they were Standard Games.

  • why does people say the master system was the first

  • Because, if u saw the vid the sg 1000 was ONLY unleashed in japan, the master system AKA: Mark 3 was the 1st released sega system in USA. ppl didnt know that the sg 1000 was the first system until i put this vid up, u should spread the word.

  • Ok I always knew the master system wasn't the first but the sg 1000 was released by sega LOL

  • i dont see how its funny :s

  • if you play it, you get pissed off that it was never released here. It is simply the most underrated system of all time. They say slightly better than 2600, play congo bongo, monaco GP, loderunner, the castle, elevator action, and my personal sg-1000 favs Bank Panic and H.E.R.O. The Sega sg-1000 kicks the shit out of any 2nd generation console

  • Never forget teh SG-1000

  • God, the dude talking narrator is annoying and a good part incorrect.

  • Holy crap is the SG-1000 expensive for a video game console... Then again, Neo Geo...

  • @Jp4rk Until you put this video up? Don't be so full of yourself.

  • I've wanted one of these puppies for going on 5 years - since I was 13. I'm 18 now and still want it. I've seen one on eBay ONCE. And then my dad wouldn't buy it because it wasn't in US dollars and it was confusing on how we would have paid for it. It was about equivalent to 150 bucks.

  • @Jp4rk Stardard Games based in Hawaii before WWII merged with Rosen Enterprises in 1954 after Daisuke Iijima(David Rosen) opened a Tokyo divison to design sound frenquency arcade machines without monitors. These became popluar during the 50s. SEGA actaully planned on bringing its arcade technology into Japanese homes in the 70s. In fact there was a console planned from it 1975 arcade board called "Discret Logic TV" which would have matched INTV's power that was scrapped in 1977.

  • スタージャックマー

  • Is Pacar made for the SG 1000 or is it a port?

  • SG-1000 had a child in Japan named Mark II. Mark II then had two children, one named Mark III and another named Master System. Master System fled from Japan at a young age, overseas to the US and had a child there whom he named Genesis. Mark III back in Japan, however, had a child named Mega Drive. Both Genesis AND Mega Drive somehow got caught up in the "affairs" of somebody named Sega CD. While Sega CD was with Mega Drive, however, he would change his name to Mega CD. And 32X? uhh... yea

  • i have two of these consoles one with a box in mint condition. i will post a video shortly. stay tuned.
