CES 2008: Slingbox Pro HD

Sling Media has announced a new Slingbox that allows place-shifting of 1080i HD content. Gone is the old Windows CODEC and now we have a Slingbox with h.264. Very cool little box, and very sleek.

Not really that expensive considering I am watching my own TV in Iraq. I get to see what I want and record my favorite and watch them whenever. This is a little expensive if you never go anywhere, then I really dont see the expense.

For anyone who has a PDA phone, your are only a product away from viewing your TV on your phone while being mobile.

This product is great. I have the SlingBoxPro HD, but the newHD box coming out is really looking sharp and seems to encompass all the right components to make sure the signal quality is sharp. I just contacted the Customer Support, and even though there is no FORMAL announcment, they do plan to integrate support for the iPhone3G. Sweet. iPhone and SlingBox... LOVE IT!!!!

I got this last month for the macintosh. it does buffer the picture quality every time you use the built in remote control for every function including volume, changing channel, or t.v guide. but once you remain on one channel for more than 3 to 5 minutes the picture quality betters.

I just picked this one up for $192 on eBay w/ shipping included! I can't wait! Now I can watch my shows in the yard while I pump some iron! Hurrah!

WAY too expensive once you factor in the inflated price of the box PLUS the SlingCatcher that is pretty much required. A lot of clams to watch TV, especially once you consider that it has no HDMI.

BIG Pass!
