Nehru bastard blackmailed Gandhi to become prime minister. If Sardar Valllabh would have been prime minister then the country would have been in 100 times more better shape than it is now.

Also do you know when Sardar, the selfless freedom fighter, India's great integrator who even gave up his prime minister ship (name in history) for the freedom of our country - receive the Bharat Ratna? In 1991. Almost 4 decades after Nehru, 2 decades after Indira Gandhi, Sardar received it along with Rajiv Gandhi. If asked the ruling familynow, they would say well it was only the Bharat Ratna commitee deciding on the winner and not Nehru.

After independence it was decided that Sardar will handle integration of India, Nehru knew he couldn't do that job but however he felt he might be able to do that job in Kashmir, since that was his home state. And needless to say for the past 60+ years we all have know how well he had done that job. Sardar integrated 565+ princely state, Nehru couldnt do one properly.

Immediately after independence Gandhi fearing family politics, asked Nehru to dissolve the congress, there came out Nehru's true colours again. I personally believe there are no equals to the mahatma in terms of humanitarian values. But he was more of a spiritual leader than a politician. The thing that worried me the most is that M.Gandhi was quite a good judge of character, then why wasnt he able to see thru Nehru.

I would rate Nehru 'downtrodden' in terms on statesmanship in comparison with Sardar. Selfish, powermonging , unfit to lead even a state of India leave alone the country. It was a fact that 'Sardar' won 13 on the 16 votes for Congress president and was more than eligible to become the first prime minister. Nehru threatened Gandhi,the 'father of the Nation', that he would split the congress. Gandhi fearing this might become a reason for the Britishers to prolong their governance had to give in.
